Welcome to the Instrumental section.

From bagpipes to xylophones, and from Bach to Guns n Roses, the Instrumental Section of Hastings International Musical Festival has something for all aspiring musicians. Whether you are someone who has only just started on your musical journey, or a performer who has spent many years perfecting your art, there is something in our festival for everyone. We pride ourselves that we move with the times, and this has been shown in the success of our RockFest classes, our newly introduced JazzFest and our wonderful Junior Instrumental Concerto classes.

Our classes cater not just for soloists, but also for groups of all shapes and sizes! We have classes for Family Music Making , Chamber Music , Orchestras, Jazz Bands, Rock Bands, Brass Bands, Recorder Bands, World Music, and our very popular Primary Schools Ensembles.

So…have a look through the syllabus. We are confident that it contains something for everyone!

I look forward to meeting many of you at our 2018 Hastings International Musical Festival.

Ann Hohenkerk

Instrumental Section Secretary.
